This is the recipe for one of Wolfgang’s famous New Year’s Eve flaming desserts.
- Find 10 medium size fresh peaches in Austria during the middle of winter
(good luck, Bucko!)
- Simmer 1 cup of water, 6 tablespoons of confectioner’s sugar and 3/4 cup of apricot jam (or preserves) over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- While playing selections from the CD, “The Schnapps Sisters Sing the
Classics”, peel
peaches and slice into small wedges.
- Put the sliced peaches in a pre-warmed chafing dish and over them pour the previously prepared concoction.
- Peel a small lemon into a single long rind and add rind for garnish.
- Squeeze lemon juice over ingredients, add 1/2 cup peach schnapps, and heat mixture over low heat for 3 minutes.
- Heat 1/2 cup of brandy in microwave for no more than 1 minute.
- Put on the Schnapps Sister’s CD titled “Oh Baby Mine!” and
dim lights. While wearing hot mitts, carefully light heated brandy and
pour over peaches. Let brandy burn for 30 seconds or less and blow out
flames. Serve over vanilla ice cream.
Note - serves 4 ravenous Schnapps Sisters or 10-14 ordinary people.
